Hindrance of Mindfulness

One of the most common hindrances of mindfulness is the lack of a structured environment. It can be difficult to find a quiet place to practice mindfulness and maintain focus in a chaotic and noisy environment with endless distractions. Without a devoted place to practice, it can be difficult to stay focused and mindful.

Busy schedules can also be a hindrance of mindfulness. With the increasing demands of everyday life, it can be challenging to find time to incorporate mindfulness activities into one’s daily routine. Without a structured routine of mindfulness, it can be easy to fall behind and lose motivation to stick with the practice.

Apathy is another common problem for those attempting to practice mindfulness. As one becomes more aware and mindful of their thoughts and feelings, it is natural to experience moments of uncomfort or anxiety. If a person cannot find within themselves the strength and motivation to push through, they are likely to give up and remain unmindful.

Finally, a lack of support can be a major hindrance of mindfulness. While a practitioner of mindfulness can do much alone, the journey is much easier when they have a supportive community or friends to lean on when things become hard. Without the social reinforcement of a group it can be difficult to persevere and immensely beneficial to remain mindful.

Conclusion

Mindfulness carries many potential benefits that can empower and foster a greater sense of wellbeing in an individual. However, in order to do so an individual must first take a step back and consider the factors that might prevent them from achieving a higher level of benefits and renewal. Being aware of the potential hindrance of mindfulness and equipped with the right tools and support, a person is far more likely to overcome any mental and physical blocks on their journey to success.
